TELL ME I LOOK DIVINE - description:
The title is of course the performer's "last wish" before entering the stage. This entrée begins the journey between worlds. Time becomes relative, all parameters changes - the body, sex, age etc. in the journey everything is possible. The journey that can be a quantum travel.
POWIEDZ MI, ZE WYGLADAM BOSKO (TELL ME I LOOK DIVINE) rose impulsively from proverbial ruins of earliest performance.
Since autumn 2005 KONCENTRAT was working on a project based on cosmology, quantum physics and dance. We ponder the item of cuts (crisscrosses) in timespace that would bring the characters into other realities. But all of a sudden, after intensive researches of a story's language and after search of places that contains other worlds, we found ourselves in the reality of theatre. And in the very last possible moment, we decided to change the title and the centre of gravity of the show.
Full of unexpected turns in action and deprived from logic, the journey of our characters occurred to be well known. Therefore the theatre is such a journey and it is theatre that crosses all invisible borders between worlds. An actor standing in the wing is still him/her selves, but after stepping out - it is a completely different somebody. The passing of time on stage differs - physiologically and allegorically. A theatre show is a rhythm changes, cascade of contradictive emotions, and a struggle with oneself, with audience and with unforeseen situations in one. The survival of the characters in such conditions bases on their reflex, perfection of performing the "obligatory elements", physical fit and skillfulness. And not always this befalls to be pleasant. Our characters, pressed by inner and outer force, try to mend their shattered fractions; they fight, but not always win.
Each work of art is, in some ways, auto thematic. In other words art - apart of its autonomic theme - is a statement on art in general, or on forms of art as well. And again painters deliberate about painting, actors about acting, writers about literature, and dancers about dance. POWIEDZ MI, ZE WYGLADAM BOSKO is more than just auto thematic show; it is a metha-journey. The journey across the journey which stage performing is: acting, dancing, but also sports and teaching. Our characters might seem a bit comic/ridiculous, though we treat them without reverence or pity, and still neither aggressive nor reluctant. As we all, the characters try to cope with still growing demands of contemporary life, but often without proportional growth of their possibilities.
